Kevin Greene Promoted to President of Cook Children's Medical Center - Prosper
PROSPER – Cook Children’s Health Care System is pleased to announce the promotion of Kevin Greene to President of Cook Children’s Medical Center – Prosper.
Greene has overseen the development and growth of the Prosper campus, leading a team of more than 500 at the medical center and ambulatory surgery center to provide top-notch care and experience for our patients and families. Under his leadership, the Prosper campus has experienced significant expansion, including the addition of 24/7 electroencephalogram (EEG) services and increased emergency department and inpatient bed capacity. This growth ensures that Cook Children’s - Prosper can meet the increasing needs of the community.
A graduate of Trinity University and Abilene Christian University, Greene’s career with Cook Children’s began as an intern in 2008 and later as a project coordinator in the Information Services department from 2011 to 2013. Prior to rejoining Cook Children’s in 2019, he held various leadership positions at HCA Houston Healthcare West, Lake Granbury Medical Center, and Cedar Park Regional Medical Center.
Within two years since opening, the Cook Children’s – Prosper campus has received accolades for its outstanding care, including being named Best Hospital and Best Emergency Department by Living Magazine. Greene’s commitment extends beyond the hospital walls, as demonstrated by his active involvement in the community. He currently serves as board chair for the Town of Prosper’s Chamber of Commerce, a board member for the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas, and a board member for the Texas Hospital Association’s Council on Policy Development and Foundation Board.
“Collaboration is my favorite value,” Greene said. “It emphasizes the importance of creating a singular alignment around our commitment to providing world-class pediatric care to every family that entrusts us with the care of their most prized gift: their child. It is also a driving factor behind what makes Cook Children’s culture so special—a desire by all 10,000+ team members to work together and to be an advocate for every child, family, and one another.”
For FY25, he is most looking forward to working with the team add on critical clinical programs such as Trauma and NICU, ensuring that we are able to live out our Pinky Promise in Prosper – everything for the child.
About Cook Children’s Health Care System
Cook Children’s is more than a health care system: we strive to be an extension of your family, growing with your child from their first steps to adulthood. By collaborating to deliver on our Promise—to improve the well-being of every child in our care and our communities, we connect the dots for our patients. Between primary and specialty. Between home and medical home. Between short-term care and long-term health.
Based in Fort Worth, Texas, we’re 10,000+ dedicated team members strong, passionately caring for over 2 million patient encounters each year. Our integrated, not-for-profit organization spans two medical centers (including our state-of-the-art location in Prosper), two surgery centers, a physician network, home health services and a health plan. It also includes Child Study Center at Cook Children's, Cook Children's Health Services Inc., and Cook Children's Health Foundation. In 2024, Forbes named Cook Children’s the top health care employer in the U.S., and third on the list of ‘America’s Best Large Employers.’
And our impact extends beyond the borders of Texas. We proudly treat children from virtually every state in the nation and 32 countries. By seeing the world through the eyes of children and their families from all backgrounds, we’re able to shape health care suited to them: connected by kindness, imagination and respect—with an extra dose of magical wonder.
