DESCRIPTION:Pre-registration is now open! An event for the entire family\, the annual Prosper Fishing Derby will be held at the pond at Frontier Park on Saturday\, February 25. Check-in begins at 8am\; prizes in numerous categories for boys and girls will be awarded at 11am. The Derby is free of charge. \n\n\n\nParticipants are asked to pre-register (www.ProsperParksandRec.org) so plans can be made accordingly. The pond will be stocked by the Texas Park and Wildlife Department before the tournament starts. The majority of fish in the pond will be rainbow trout.\, but along with them will be copper nose bluegill\, channel catfish\, hybrid crappie and largemouth bass. The tournament is a catch-and-keep event for trout only Up to five trout may be retained. Derby officials encourage catch -and-release for other species. \n\n\n\nFish are provided by the Town of Prosper. State fishing regulations concerning licenses and other rules apply before and after the tournament. If you are 17 years of age or older\, please visit the Texas Parks and Wildlife website for licensing rules to avoid a citation.
